golfchannel.com links don't work

more options

Hi, I am running Firefox version 39.0 on a PC using Vista 64. When I link to any article on golfchannel.com from another website, I have no problem clicking on other links on that page and navigating to subsequent pages from those links. However, when I type www.golfchannel.com into a new tab on my browser and navigate to that site, none of the links work. Any ideas why this might be happening?

Hi Mike,

When you say none of the links work... can you explain in greater detail? Can you see the links, but nothing happens when you click them? Or do you see an error message?

Any extra detail you can give would be much appreciated.

You could also try resetting Firefox, as this can fix many common issues. Instructions on how to do that are here: Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

Thanks.

Hi, and thanks for the reply.

To clarify, if I navigate to a www.golfchannel.com article/page from another website, such as Yahoo, all other links on that page are active, my cursor changes from the default arrow to a pointing finger, and the link gets underlined. I click it and navigate to the appropriate page. However, when I type www.golfchannel.com in my browser's URL field and navigate to it (which goes to their home page), none of the links are active, hovering on them doesn't change the cursor and the links don't underline, so I can't navigate off this page to anywhere else on their site.

Interestingly, if I linked to one of their pages from elsewhere and then click on their main page link, the same (non) thing happens...none of the links are active and I can't navigate from that page. I can go back one page and the links are active...just not on their main page.

This has been an ongoing issue with this site for as long as I can remember, and is the only website I have run into with this issue.

Note: This issue does not exist when I go to their main page using IE9. All links are active.

I'm not real comfortable resetting Firefox to it's default settings as I have done a lot of toolbar customizations, added a number of important (to me, anyway) extensions, modified preferences, and added additional search engines, etc., which would all be removed with a reset. I realize I could restore my old profile from the "Old Firefox Data" file that is created during the reset procedure, but the way the article reads it may only restore some of the information...but possibly not all of it.

Any other thoughts on why this is the only site I have found that has this issue? Am I being paranoid about the reset procedure that jayelbe mentioned above?
