I am unable to download emails via Thunderbird from my hotmail.com account. I can access my email via the Windows 10 mail app and through a web browser, I suspect Microsoft has changed something. I know my password and email address. It would seem that Thunderbird cannot login to my account. Any ideas on how to fix ? Delete the hotmail account in thunderbird and then trying to add it back does mot work

I am using IMAP. Thunderbird started working again around 3:05 pm EST time in Australia. Thunderbird stopped working again though around 5:30 EST time. I am using a Pc. I cannot get app specific passwords to work on my pc. I can access Hotmail using Mac Mail or Web browser. I have set up Hotmail to automatically forward mail to an alternate email address.
