How can I copy my inbox emails to an external disk on a mac?

more options

I want to copy my inbox and all folders, including email and attachments, and directory structure to an external disk for backup and to copy existing email to a new computer. On my Windows computer, the folders are in the Thunderbird folder. I now use a Mac and I want to transfer to a new mac. Where is my inbox, etc on my hard drive?
