Font size and style gets changed after copy/paste operation

more options

Hello

I often have problems with font size and style after copying/pasting in some text or even an image into my message

All the following text gets the same style and I can't seem to change it back even with select text and then applying a style

I've looked for an add on to try to rectify this but without success.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks

Have you tried Edit|Paste Without Formatting?

If what you're pasting is just text, another work-around is to paste it to a text-only environment, such as Notepad, then copy and paste from there into Thunderbird.

Hello

Ok, I'll try that in future

Thanks

Thanks for the text-only environment workaround.

However part of the problem is that on the screen for new emails, on clicking on 'Edit', 'Paste without Formatting' is grayed out.

Wow. Somehow I thought there must be something that prevented simply

'clicking a switch' but now I see that 'Paste without Formatting' actually works.

Thank you also for the email welcoming me to the site.

All I want to say about myself is, first, that I am a Linux Mint user ( though not an expert ).

Second my other Thunderbird problem is my own ( rather than caused by Thunderbird itself ). I have 2 separate accounts there and I have managed to send a message from the WRONG account so the recipient does not recognise me ( immediately anyway ),

Ideally some future version of Thunderbird would have a warning : “Are you Sure .......... is Sending this message ?”
