why cant i open existing bookmarks in my bookmark toolbar in a new tab instead of clearing what i have in current tab and opening there? used to have an extension to do this which is now gone why and how do i get this back????

Both Middle-click and {Ctrl + Click} will open a bookmark in a new Tab.

As far as I know, the one extension that had a preference for that was TabMix Plus which is taking longer than the developer anticipated to rewrite as a WebExtension. It may be a few weeks until it is ready.
