It's as the question says. No scroll bar "up" or "down" buttons. The scroll bar is rather thin and hard to grab. Also, long pages and email are impossible to navigate without the up and down arrows. Loaded Chrome, and that does have the arrows.

I can't be the only one with this problem...

Running Linux Lite 3.6, P8700 processor @2.53GHz and 3G of ram.

Ignore the above as it is a generic reply by a Windows user not familiar with the problem you are having on Linux.

The missing scrollbar arrows tells me you are likely have a GTK2 theme in use on your Linux distro instead of a GTK3 theme.

The official Firefox builds for Linux from Mozilla since 46.0+ have required both GTK 3.4 (three.four) or later and also GTK3 Themes for Firefox to be themed. If a GTK2 theme is in use then Firefox will look unthemed and some glitches like say missing the scroolbar arrows. Some Linux distros may have delayed this change in their Firefox packages until later versions.

I have been out of pocket and haven't been able to play with this issue for a while. However, I have downloaded and installed a few different GTK3 themes to no avail. All I can seem to do is eliminate the scroll bar altogether or have a thin scroll bar with no up or down arrows.

I'm wondering if this is inherent to Linux Lite as it comes preloaded with Firefox and Thunderbird.

If Firefox/Thunderbird was still running when you change a Theme make sure you restart Firefox/Thunderbird for Firefox/Thunderbird to get themed properly.

Thanks James.

I not only restarted Firefox, I rebooted the laptop. I'm curious if I'm choosing a proper theme though. I went to Gnome-look.org and downloaded from GTK3 Themes. Depending on which theme I selected, the scroll bar was either nonexistent or it was present, but very thin and no scroll bar arrows. Should I be looking for something different as far as themes go?

Thank you for your input...
