Hi Volunteers,

Here's what I'd like to do. I'd like to use IMAP to access email. I'd like to keep a majority of my emails only locally on my computer, not on the server. I'd like to leave the last few days of emails on the server as well as local. When I delete emails from the server, I don't want them to be deleted locally. (I'm guessing IMAP synchronization would normally delete them locally when deleted from the server.)

Is this possible?

You understand IMAP very well.

A solution offered by Thunderbird is to move those messages into its Local Folders account.

Doing so will make a local copy and remove the remote copy on the IMAP server.
