I don't have cell phone service in my area.
I am trying desperately to get rid of my old email drpellow@wildblue.net from Thunderbird as I deleted that email over a year ago when it got hacked and replaced it with a gmail account. I have no other email now and I don't have a cell phone or cell phone service in my area. You seem to require one of these in order to get rid of my old email from Thunderbird. Can I use a friend's email??? A friend's cell phone?

Thunderbird does not run on cell phones.
A cell phone plays no part in the Thunderbolt operation.
Why are you bringing up the subject of cell phones.
It is completely irrelevant.
Did you follow the instructions above for removing the account details from Thunderbird? That is all you have to do.

If you're certain there is no mail to be kept in the old account it can be deleted.
Press Alt or F10 in case the menu bar is hidden. From the main menu bar: Tools - Account Settings Select the account to be deleted in the left pane. Select 'Remove Account' from the 'Account Action' drop-down menu at the bottom.
I'm not sure why you think you need a cell phone for this.
I told you that I don't have cell phone coverage in my area, nor do I own a cell phone because your company continues to advertised features that assume I do have a cell phone. Your attitude is that, of course, everyone has a cell phone. I wish to delete these ads if possible. I don't want to delete any account involving a cell phone because I don't believe such an account exists.
