re : I use the form it runs but than comes allway Thunderbird failed to finf settings Thunderbird has the settings for the majority of standard servers. But when you have eg: a webhost you may need to manually enter the details. When Thunderbird cannot locate configuration settings, click on 'Manual Config' button to manually enter the server settings as per information offered by 1&1.de

I would try these settings:

  • Incoming server name: imap.1und1.de
  • Port: 993
  • Connection Security: SSL/TLS
  • Authentication Method: Normal Password
  • Username = full email address

either

  • Port: 587
  • Connection Security: STARTTLS

or

  • Port: 465
  • Connection Security: SSL/TLS
  • Authentication Method: Normal Password
  • Username = full email address

Try increasing the timeout. Menu icon (3 lines) > Options > Advanced > 'General' tab click on 'Config Editor' button It will say be careful :) In 'Search' type: tcptimeout It should list the settings just for mailnews.tcptimeout. Look in the Value column and double click on that number. It defaults to 100 It should display a "Enter Integer value" window . Change the number to a higher value eg: 200 or 1000 press the OK button Verify the new value is listed in the Value column. The Status column should also change from "default" to "user set". Close window - top right X Click on OK

What OS do you use Windows, MAC, Linux ? What version of Thunderbird are you using? Current release version has just been updated to version 68.0
