have you tried restarting Thunderbird since the update? add-on usually don't update until the second start. The first updates Thunderbird, the second allows the updates to add-ons that downloaded on the first start to actually complete their update process.

To be sure there are many add-ons that will not be updated every to Thunderbird 68, but remaining with a version that is end of life is not really an option either. So perhaps you need to look at alternative add-ons. Like Lightning, the calendar that is bundled with Thunderbird. It manages my Google calendar just fine.

Thanks for the idea but restarting didn't help. Lightning is running but can't connect to my Google calendar because 'Provider for Google Calendar' is disabled as incompatible. I only use 7 add-ins and every one is showing as incompatible.

The add-ins are more important to me than having v68 hence my desire to go back to 60! Just not sure how...

Yes. I've been investigating and some of the add-ins DO have versions that work with 68 but none updated automatically - not sure why. Most are now working and hopefully the remaining ones will soon.

The latest version I see available in https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/ is 60.9.1. Its release notes are here.

As long as you understand that these old versions may be missing critical security updates going forward, you can install an old 60.x version and then disable automatic updates in the settings (or set <tt>app.update.auto</tt> to "false" in the configuration editor). I depend heavily upon Markdown Here, so this is my only recourse until someone updates it to work with TB 68.x.

You might want to back up your profile first, in case things get worse by going back to a 60.x version. See this article if you don't know where to find your profile directory.

I had to manually reinstall or re-activate several of my addons that had been automatically updated or disabled after Thunderbird auto-updated itself 60.something to 68.2.1. (In other words, the auto-update to 68.x upgraded them to versions that were no longer backward-compatible with 60.x.)

How the heck do I revert from the directory links on the URL below? I'm pissed at version 68 and need 60 back but don't know how.

AFter getting v60 reinstalled has anyone had the issue where Google keeps wanting to reauthorize credentials?

Google changed oAuth. The fix is in V68. I don't think there is an intention to back port it to V60 at all as it is out of support.

I had no issues this morning till TB pushed the V68 update, now I have to put in google credentials every time TB opens. Not happy right now.

Just a general point here why update Thunderbird (68) when the new version is worse than the last one. I've lost all the add ons which made the old version useful. Save your money and stop updating
