I have two PCs: the old one with Debian 9 (Stretch), the new one with Debian 10 (Buster) How do I move the message filters (about 20) from my old machine to my new maschine? It was no problem to copy the mail directory from one machine to the other, but the message filters did not come along. Thanks for any help. K.D.J.

Thank you for the reference to answer to the equivalent question. This solved my problem. BUT one has to be careful what filter data are to replaced. I discovered that I have two files 'msgFilterRules.dat': one directly in the .default directory, the other in the subdirectory 'ImapMail'. As I am using IMAP I had to replace the latter. Thanks again. K.D.J.

I don't know how a msgFilterRules.dat ended up in the .default profile folder, and in any case it would be ignored. The file only resides in the account subfolders of Mail and ImapMail, and Mail/Local Folders.
