An advertisement for bravenewlook.com selling face masks appeared on my Samsung phone put there by Firefox, and cannot be cleared.

Hi elashn, where does the ad appear now? For example:
- when starting the browser for a new session
- when opening a new tab
- in other pages
- outside of the browser
There is a series of icons across the very top of the screen. The ad appears in the notifications...which I get by scrolling down from top of screen. It's a link that takes Firefox to www.bravenewlook.com.

I replied to you and clicked "Post." My message disappeared and I don't see it anywhere. Is this working?
Repeating: The ad appears in notifications. THere's a series of icons across the very top of the screen, each of which is a "notification." When I scroll down from the top edge, I can see all the notifications. One of them is a Firefox link that reads "Face Masks for Sale..."
I believe websites need permission to show notifications via Firefox. If you visit the site and tap the lock icon in the address bar, does Firefox for Android/Firefox Beta/Firefox Nightly show an overlay listing customized site permissions where you can remove the notification permission?
It's also possible that the notification is not specifically from that site, but from another site promoting that site or from an add-on.

Any reply that contains a URL is sent to a moderation queue. The message bar about that is not very noticeable.
The Lock icon brings up a small window that states a URL: www.bravenewlook.com, a green check mark and the words Secure Connection, and below that "Verified by: Let's Encrypt." I'm not as annoyed by the notification as I am by the fact that the Clear function will not remove it.
Hi
The control to clear the advert is something that has been designed by the people running the advert and is not controlled by Firefox for Android. I agree that they can be tricky to close...it is almost like it has been designed that way.
Ugh, not good. I want Firefox to display the message but keep it encapsulated so that the message content can't "get loose" and monkey with the phone's controls. Isn't that reasonable to do?
I am not sure what you mean. The advert is not changing the phones controls, it is the advert that is difficult to close.
I was unsuccessful at getting any help from bravenewlook.com. So, I could find no other solution than to uninstall Firefox. I am disappointed...
Hi
This is not an issue with Firefox for Android on the product being advertised. The issue lies with the company that is making the adverts.
