Hi, Firefox offers two formats. I suggest creating a file in each.
I also suggest creating the files on your C drive and then copying them to the USB drive. This avoids occasional performance issues when saving or opening files if Firefox tries to access a removable drive that is no longer present.
Here are the articles with more details:
(1) Backup Feature => JSON format
This format is only useful to Firefox and is not easily human readable. It may preserve more data than the next feature I'll mention.

(2) Export Feature => HTML format
This feature creates the ancient cross-browser export file commonly called bookmarks.html. You can open it in any browser to use links to all your bookmarks:

Does that do what you need?
