when i) I open the computer, ii) when I click " Get messages" or the Thunderbird does it itself (I have settings to download every 5 minutes) not ALL messages are downloaded into my inbox (from Gmail) but only 2 messages. And then another 2, etc.

This is very tiring and lasting. Can you help me set up Thunderbird to always pull ALL messages? Tx and brgds Marko

item 1. Is your account IMAP or POP? If it is IMAP then mail will arrive when it arrives, only pop really requires regular poling.

Item 2. Have you tried without your anti virus? It sounds to me like something is dropping dead in the process and they are prone to messing with mail downloads.

Item 3. Increase the time between checks. Make it a minimum of 10 minutes and see if that has an impact. With slow av products 4 minutes might be how long it takes to get two emails and then it has to start again.
