i also have tried all the suggestions in other support posts (turning off extensions, clear cookies, disable tracking protection, ...)

the problem started a few days ago, with the annoying pop-up that i have blocker active on youtube. since yesterday i keep getting a blank youtube screen if i open a video in a new tab and this tab will finish loading like 5 minutes later or something, until then, its not possible to do any action on this tab (no buttons etc.)

i only have this problem in firefox browser, edge and chrome work fine, so its (probably) not an issue with my youtube account etc.

i hope you guys raise awareness to this, so the devs can help us!

Google is constantly running experiments on different users. Try clearing site cookies until the issue goes away.

I also have the same issue and only in firefox from past couple of days. Tried disabling all the extension, cleared cookies and even reinstalled firefox but that too didnt work.

Try staying logged out of your Youtube account.

Does it still happen in a new profile? An easy way to test a new profile is to install Developer Edition and see if it happens there or refresh your existing profile.

Are you using containers as that might interfere ?

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or if userChrome.css/userContent.css is causing the problem.

• switch to the Default System theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes

Youtube not working in a new tab when I open a link on a new tab from youtube. The Shorts are working fine. Both videos and shorts are working on chrome but not on mozilla.

same problem brother.. only in Firefox.. other browsers are good... shorts are working fine on new tab but normal videos freeze when open in new tab. besides if i press reload on a running video it also react same. it freeze. please help.

The issue is fixed for me. So I had the tampermonkey extension installed and I was using a script to skip youtube ads, which i guess was the issue. Disabling the extension wasnt working, so I had to remove the script and extension and then had to clear the cookies and caches, then only it worked for me. Hope it helps.

Edit: after working properly for a day, the same issue is happening so i guess something else is the problem...sad.

Update: its working fine now for me. I didnt do anything, probably firefox fixed its issue.
