There are times when I have 100's of messages in my INBOX, and others where for some reason, TB has my current message way below. So, on MacOS at least, I get the side bar active and I move it to the top. But I thought how clever it would be to have a button that simply reset the view to the top-most (current) message.

If you use table view, that feature is already there. Just press 'date' on the header bar in message list pane
