Just upgraded to Firefox 3.6.3. I can open multiple tabs in the open window, but I can not open another window. Possibly unrelated issue is the search bar not functioning.

As for the window issue, I've tried; Ctrl + N File [N] File -> New Window Rt Click Link -> Open in New Window

Nothing whatsoever happens with either of these attempts.

As for the Search bar I've tried to input a search and press [Enter] as well as clicking the magnifying glass with the mouse. As with the window issue nothing happens.

I'm not sure if these issues are related. Restarting does not fix these.

Hello Sparky.

I can't be sure about this, but since the Search bar isn't working, I am willing to believe your installation has some kind of problem. Simply uninstalling and installing Firefox 3.6.3 again should fix the issue. No data will be lost. You can download it for free at getfirefox.com.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes). See Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems and Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears. You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window. You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit")

OP here. I removed WebMail Notifier (just for not needing it) and restarted. Some part of this fixed everything.

If you don't temporarily disable all extensions you won't be able to know if the others are causing problems too.

I'm having this same issue but with ff5 and on a mac. I've disabled all my add-ons and it still persists even in safe mode. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and I'm having this issue as well. I had it with 4.0.1 as well but hoped 5.0 would fix it. Under the menu I can see the windows showing up but nothing happens if I click one. Only the first window can ever be "activated". And ideas? It'd be really nice to use view source sometime rather than firebug. Thanks
