Left click does nothing with hot links. Right click only allows me to open the page in a new tab or window.

Does this happen on all web sites, or only certain web sites?

If it is limited to certain web sites, can you give example URLs?

If it is on Sympatico.ca, see these threads:

my home page is sympatico.ca none of the links work with firefox 5 | Firefox Support Forum | Firefox Help

www.sympatico.ca (my home page) does not respond to my mouse clicks to access sites, etc. | Firefox Support Forum | Firefox Help

On further investigation, yes the problem is with Sympatico home page. Haven't found the problem with any other URLs. When opening the link in a new tab, the tab doesn't open automatically.

This doesn't explain my issue for 5.0. I have the problem when the tab has been pinned and I click on a link, such as the login link for my Wells Fargo account - it always opens it in a new tab and I cannot get it to open in the current tab (which is a pain because I want to login in the pinned tab, otherwise no sense in pinning it). I tried looking at the about:config for a parameter to change, but didn't see anything relevant. How do we open a link in a current tab/window?

@gaskkap, I am not personally familiar with the pinned tabs feature. If you don't get a real response here within 24 hours, try posting your inquiry as a new question so it isn't lost in the Sympatico noise.

Can not navigate pages within a web site. Hot links do not open. Settings???

Links on the EBAY site open about half the time.

@cbpoole639, can you start a new question and use the feature to include your add-ons information with your post?

Evidently, I already have some incompatibilty, I have not loaded any "add-ons" to create more.

Thanks for your help.

After install some Add-ons, they modify the behavior to always open links in new tabs.

A example of that is when you install Tab Utilities, you need to go to its configuration, and in Links field, deselect "Force all links to open in New Tab".
