Where there is a link to send an email, such as someone's email address, this is controlled by the following setting:

orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Options > Applications

In the search box, type or paste mailto and wait for Firefox to filter the list.

However, I don't know whether this governs what happens when you right-click and use Send Link.

Can you try it, making Gmail your mailto application, and then testing?

I seem to have solved the problem by installing gmail Notify.
