When I open Firefox another program is attached to the site. How can I get rid of the site?

When I open firefox I get a split screen with firefox and another site. I can not erase or delete the other site. Do you have any ideas how I can fix this? If I delete and reinstall firefox the site is still there. If I use Internet Explorer I don't have this problem. The only solution I can come up with is to delete Firefox and Use internet explorer but I would rather use Moxzilla if I can slove this problem.
