(1) To reset your homepage, hit ALT then T then O. It will open open the options box. There's an option to change your homepage there. (2) Comcast also probably changed your search provider. To get Google back, Type about:config into the url bar. In the search box type: "keyword.url" without quotes. Right click the keyword.url entry and select "modify" Enter the default google search url in the modify box: “http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&q= Click OK

thanks Efreak, i really appreciate your help with this. i was so angry i deleted firefox and reloaded, now i am stuck on yahoo but at least it is not comcast. i will use your advice to get back to google and set the search provider back as well. again many thanks!!
