I tried adding 5 different add-ons with the same results. I even re-booted each time to no avail. It says it downloads the add-on but it will not install. Working with Windows XP-SP2 on an old Dell Latitude C600. Everything worked fine until the latest update. Tried removing Firefox and re-installing. Don't know what else to do. Please help.

Make sure that the "Get Add-ons" tab isn't selected on the Firefox/Tools > Add-ons page, but the Extensions tab or one of the others.

Do you get an error message when you try to install an extension?
