First of all I suggest you look at these two articles which covers most of the usual problems. Please take the time to do the checks in the first article carefully. You will waste a lot of effort if you negelct that and assume it is a Flash upgrade issue.

  1. Fix common audio and video issues
  2. Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems but please read the rest of this post before choosing to upgrade flash player

Possibly the most likely cause of your problem relates to a recent update to FlashPlayer. Normally advice is to use the latest version of software because it is best for features and importantly security.

In the case of Flash player there are issues that both Flash & Firefox developers are looking into. These affects Firefox on Windows, when used with FlashPlayer 11.3

Without going into unnecessary technicalities my current personal suggestion is

  1. Do you have RealPlayer installed, especially with Recording/downloading functions, if so please say so (That also may involve known issues)
  2. Try the latest version, released yesterday. I am not sure it is fully tested, but it is supposed to fix some issues
  3. If that fails to help see our article Adobe Flash plugin has crashed - Prevent it from happening again and sorry this now gets complicated
    • I regret to say this but the best course of action may be to use Internet Explorer for the next week, and post back in a week to see what the developments have been. When you post please always give the exact version of FlashPlayer that you are using, as shown from the Adobe test site.
    • Flash 10.3 almost certainly will work (unless you have RealPlayer issues) and is secure, but difficult to install
    • Flash 11.2 should work, has more features, but is NOT secure, and may now also be difficult to install.
