Norton Toolbar does not work with Firefox 17, Comcast provided Norton Security Suite, Win 7.
I have Norton Security Suite provided by Comcast. Norton Toolbar does not work with Firefox 17.0.1 on my Win 7 machine. I have been through all the questions on this subject and done all the steps and still, when I click "Add Ons", it says the toolbar is incompatible. It does work with IE but I prefer to use Firefox.

I've had the same problem in the past. If you call Norton customer service toll free they've always helped me get it going (no charge) when I've updated to a new version of Firefox- seems to happen every time even if I run the updates regularly. Hope this helps- Norton phone support is always very friendly and helpful- just Google their 800 number.

Have you opened up Norton, and run Live-Update?
I have run live update, several times. I also downloaded and ran the Norton Auto Detect, and strangely, it said it did not detect a Norton Product. And yet, there it is, right on my desktop.
Honestly, I would uninstall Norton (it's slow, and a very poor anti-virus), and install Microsoft Security Essentials.

Make sure you have the current version from Comcast as many times Comcast uses may be a version or two behind like say 5.2.2.3 as major version updates from Comcast have to be downloaded manually.

Update: Norton helped me with this- very simple fix...... (1). Select your FIREFOX tab and go to the ADD-ONS tab. (2). Or if your Firefox toolbar is visible, select the TOOLS tab (3). Next select the ADD-ONS tab, which should open up your options (4). If your Norton toolbar was operable before you updated your version of Firefox your Norton toolbar EXTENSIONS shoud be visible. (5). On the right margin of that EXTENSIONS box you should have buttons visible to Enable and Disable those EXTENSIONS. (6). Select Enable, then you can close out of that menu. (7). Close the Firefox browser (8). Reopen your Firefox browser and your Norton toolbar should now be visible as it was before your update.
If this doesn't work, rather than spending a great deal of time I'd suggest just contacting Norton support and they'll get your problem resolved for you. Good luck.

Tyler, Microsoft Security Essentials is probably fine and it's also free. In my case I have Comcast high speed internet and the Norton Security Suite comes free with the Comcast service. So I've found that phone support for Comcast is the most familiar with the Norton. I can't say I've been disappointed with the Norton Security Suite at all, and as far as I can tell it's kept me really well protected because I've had zero viruses or other security problems.
I solved this problem by following the post http://forums.comcast.com/t5/Security-and-Anti-Virus/How-To-Uninstall-Reinstall-Norton-Security-Suite-after-a-problem/m-p/870735
It now works fine.
But I would like to see Comcast make this work automatically without all the trouble.
