Download Panel Ignores Downloads
In Private Browsing mode, the Download Panel icon often gives no indication to a downloaded file (i.e. no animation and the file doesn't appear on the list).
Try downloading a few PNGs from this site: http://findicons.com/search/firefox
- PNG files are set (Options -> Applications) to save without asking.
Thank you.

The icons load if one right-clicks them and chooses "Save Image As". If I click the image and then choose "Download PNG", I just get a mostly blank page with {"success": true} on it, and there is no download.
Do you see downloaded files if you open the about:downloads page via the location bar?
Yes a download tab is used for downloads instead of the panel.
If you left-click on 'PNG' the file is downloaded but it's not on the list. I don't see the file if I open the about:downloads page.
Thanks.

I get an Open with dialog to save the image if I click the PNG link or click the icon and click Download PNG.
No difference between normal mode and Private Browsing mode.
Does it work properly in normal (i.e. not PB mode)?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
Thank you cor-el.
It works properly in normal mode. The problem occurs in PB and if PNG files are set (Options -> Applications) to save without asking. You can check this option in the Open with dialog.
Safe Mode same problem.
