Recovering my bookmarks from an OLD hard drive to move to a new PC
I took the old drive out of the laptop and put it in a USB case so I now have my entire OLD hard drive as drive E ...but no applications will actually run of course. So...I want to find my OLD profile on drive E (particularly bookmarks) and copy and move it to my NEW firefox installation on drive C. Both computers were/are running Win7 64 bit if that helps. Thanks much in advance for any help.

If you drill down to the following folder, it should contain your profile(s):
drive:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
You may need to unhide hidden files and folders: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hidden-files#show-hidden-files=windows-7
If you find more than one folder, try the one with the most recent modification date and look inside for a bookmarkbackups folder. Here you should find individual .json files with dates embedded in the file names. Copy the most recent to a more convenient location such as your Documents folder. Then you can use the steps in the following article to restore it to your new installation of Firefox:
Please note that the restore process completely replaces whatever you have in your new Firefox. If you need to preserve new bookmarks that you've saved, you can use the export/import process as described in this post: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/962313#answer-446564
Any luck?
Note there there might be some other data you want to recover. This article might help: Recovering important data from an old profile.

Thanks to both ololo and jscher2000 for responding. Unfortunately, ololo's answer was not detailed enough for me but JSher was just right and you are a LIFESAVER!! My whole life is in those bookmarks and they are BACK!!
The only correction I would give is that it is VERY important to unhide all your files as jscher suggests but my Win7 control panel has no "pesonalization and folders" file in the control panel as the linked article suggests. There IS however a separate FOLDERS OPTIONS file in the control panel where you can make all files visible under the VIEW tab under advanced option choices. Easy.
Thanks again for the prompt replies and especially to Jsher for this solution. This is probably gonna be more common as laptops die and are replaced since it is so easy to pull out the old hard drive and put it in a USB case for recovery. It is good to have a superb solution that works in less than 5 minutes!
