"A plugin is needed to display this content", how do I get my computer to do this?
I am trying to open a video file for my online class. When I click on the file, a gray box appears and reads "a plugin is needed to display this content". How do I get my computer to open the video. I have a MAC and zero knowledge of how to fix problems on it.

You have Flash and QuickTime. You may need to install Flip4Mac in case other media files need to be played.

Hmm, it depends on the type of video.
Does Firefox offer a link to search for the plugin? That may lead to some useful information.
If not, is the page available for viewing without logging in? If so, you could paste the address here for a volunteer to take a look.
In case the site uses video compatible with Windows Media Player, or in anticipation of coming across such a site sooner or later, you may need to install a plugin for Mac that can play Windows Media. Microsoft offers a couple of options on this page:
