Hi there, I switched Telco's a month ago, and changed my email address. I have used Mozbackup for Thunderbird for years successfully, however I can't get it to backup my current email address and emails. I tried a restore on Thunderbird, and it restored my previous Telco's email address. I uninstalled Thunderbird, and Mozbackup, ran ccleaner and deleted the folders from my registry, and rebooted. I ensured I have the latest version of Thunderbird, reinstalled both Thunderbird and Mozbackup. I set up Thunderbird with my new email address only, the old, defunct on is just not in the settings any more. I used Thunderbird for about a week, then did a backup. I then created a restore point (Windows 10) and attempted a 'restore' using Mozbackup. It restored my old email address, which is no longer in Thunderbird. I had to use my restore point to return my current settings. I really want to be able to backup, and would appreciate some help. Thanks in advance.

MozBackup hasn't been updated for 20 month. And is not cleared to work on Win 10. (It might thou) I suggest you delete or move your old backups so Moz cant find them. Make a backup of your new settings and try to restore it. You could read the backup files and unzip them if you like to check. They are simple zip-files.

Thank you so much for your help, and the links Gnospen, I really appreciate it :)

Gnospen, the beta version doesn't work for me. Is there any other program I can use for backup of Thunderbird? **Edit and a bookmark backup for Firefox? I haven't been able to find anything Many thanks :)

I didn't update to win 10, don't like MS policies like autoupdate etc. But I've been using Kaosmos ImportExportTools and has it set to make a backup every 3rd day. and only changed files. (once in a while I change it to make a full backup)

You could make your own backup-cmd, Just copy your entire profile into a zip-container. Mozbackup is doing that but leaves some files that would be recreated anyway out.. Open your old mozbackup-file in 7zip or what you have.

And in Firefox, if you open show all bookmarks under bookmarks you'll find an import/export alternative
