i get a message that "firefox is running another in the background and should be shut down before another can run OR restart your computer" I get this even when there is not another firefox running in the background. Any suggestions to fis this issue?

No more details other than above . I have uninstalled and re-installed FIREFOX several times and still get this issue. Also, very slow in connecting to websites.
