Whenever I click on an email link within an email or site, firefox goes crazy, with 100s of tabs. Only way to stop it with task manager

That's basically it. Whenever I click on an email link within an email or website, Firefox just continues to open new tabs, I assume, because it happens so fast . The only way to stop it is use Windows Task Manager to close Firefox. This has happened with two different systems and 2 different email servers.

You get tabs opening endlessly if you select the Firefox program to handle a file when you get an "Open with" dialog.

You can rename (or delete) the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder to reset all file actions.
