FF 29.0.1 crashes regularly. FF 27.1 worked fine. How do I go back?
Running FF 27 worked fine on Windows 7. Now, FF 29.0.1 often crashes on certain sites, which then causes Windows 7 to crash.
I'd like to go back to FF 27.1. How do I do that?

If you have submitted crash reports then please post the IDs of one or more recent crash reports that have a "bp-" prefix:
- bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx
You can find the IDs of the submitted crash reports on the about:crashes page.
- You can open the about:crashes page via the location bar, like you open a website, or open the crash reports page via "Help > Troubleshooting Information".

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
For security reasons, it is not recommended to run old versions of Firefox. Let's see whether we can solve the crash problem.
To get started, could you:
(1) Use the Add-ons page to:
- Update your extensions
- Disable any unnecessary extensions
Either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then:
- Click the "gear" button above the list and "Check for Updates"
- Review your enabled extensions for any that you do not plan to use during the next 24 hours and disable those. (Or if they don't sound familiar, you can remove them.)
Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
(2) Post some of your crash IDs in a reply
When Firefox crashes, it usually records information about what was happening at that moment. You can submit that data to Mozilla and share it with forum volunteers to see whether it points to the solution. Please check the support article "Firefox Crashes" (especially the last section) for steps to get those crash IDs, and then post some of the recent ones here.
