Thanks Glamdring7, I can confirm that my setting are as per the screenshot, except I also include signatures for forwards. signature block appears at end of email trail both in windows and in Ubuntu. Grateful for any further assistance.

I have seen when the correct boxes are checked but it still does not work. You need to go into the Config Editor and type reply in the search box. Look for the rep!y on top fields and change it there. There should be an option for g!obal setting and one for each account you have. I am working off my tablet and do not have access to thunderbird right now to give better instruction details. Depending on memory and that is questionable sometimes.

Not sure what to tell you now. The settings look correct. You might try toggling the options off and then restarting Thunderbird and then set them back to On Top and see what happens.

Maybe someone else will have a suggestion.

Hi,

Had the same problem just a moment ago. It turns out that it was the 'Signature Switch' add-on that caused the problem. Disabling the add-on returned control to Thunderbird and the options in Composition & Addressing work just fine.

Hope this helps.
