Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Not only did it not help a bit,but there was so much other crap that came with mozila that I had to get out of way, only to have Retail Benefits to lock it all up again! The only time it has ever shown up is with Mozila! I won't be downloading it again until all the crap is taken away ! Dave
No version of the open source desktop Firefox for Windows, Mac OSX and Linux from www.mozilla.org is bundled with any form of malware, viruses, toolbars or software. Mozilla would lose far too much for what little gain by adding anything including anything you think came with Firefox.
It is becoming one of the increasingly few free software that is clean and not bundled with anything in installer or software.
If Firefox is your default browser then it could be targeting it as a result or it could be made to attach itself to Firefox. Also if your claims of Firefox coming with this was true then there would be lots of threads about it.
Now if you downloaded Firefox from some unofficial download site including the known adware site cnet aka download.com then something could have been added. Or maybe something you installed or updated recently has added it.
