is it possible to reverse sync of bookmarks?
i moved bookmarks from another computer via sync and the other bookmarks already on file were removed

Where or what is the parent folder?
A good question. All computers use folders or directories to store all files. There is one primary or "root directory," with all other directories going off of it. Much like the branches of a tree. Here is an example;
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
"C:\" is the root, or top directory.
"\Program Files (x86)\" is a sub-directory off of the root directory.
"\Mozilla Firefox" is a sub directory off of "\Program Files (x86)\"
When one talks about the Parent Directory, that means to go up to the directory that the current one is a part of. In the example, "\Program Files (x86)\" is the parent of "\Mozilla Firefox."

I believe there are two options, merge and replace.
Bookmark Backups
Open a new tab or window. type about:support in the address box and press enter. Or Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the tool bar. Then Help > Troubleshooting Information.
Under the page logo on the left side you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To it’s right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.
Enter the bookmarkbackups folder. This is where Firefox makes backups of your bookmarks. Look for the file you want to restore (check the time / date). Right click on that file and select Copy. Now go back to the parent folder where you started. Right click in the folder and select Paste. Rename the file bookmarks.html by adding .old to it. The file you just pasted here, rename it to bookmarks.html. After you are done, restart Firefox.

FredMcD. Thanks for the reply. I got as far as " Now go back to the Parent folder were you started". Where or what is the parent folder?
Does your current computer have the same computer name as that other computer? If that is the case then maybe set a different name.
You can restore the bookmarks from a JSON backup (bookmarks-####-##-##_xxxx.json).
- Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Restore > Choose File
