Ignore the Shockwave player link as you likely do not need it compared to the Flash player as it is hardly used now days.
FredMcD, you really need to fix/update your clipboard for this.
The download version at Shockwave player (not flash) is at 12.1.3.153 and not 15.0.0.152 as you may be confusing it with a version that the Flash player was at before.
Flash player is at 15.0.0.189 and not 14.0.0.179 as you can see at https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
Flash player is used for well Flash videos like at Youtube and Flash games while Shockwave player is little used in comparison to Flash, for things like some games and online Learning tools for example.
And please do not say "I asked. This is the way it's posted on the site" as you said last time in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1026518 as that says little on why you are posting wrong versions and calling Shockwave player as Shockwave Flash.

Could you provide more information about where the attachment hiding is occurring. Is this on your email website? If so, do you use one of the popular ones like Yahoo mail, Hotmail/Outlook, or Gmail?
On your second question -- why are always about 10 internet pages where I have to download something when I use mozila firefox -- that doesn't sound right. Are you getting diverted to ads, or what are all the extra pages about?
1) If you are talking about the file names on the computer, there is a setting to turn off known file types. Open your file browser. Then just under the location bar, press Tools, then Folder Options. A new window will open. Select View. Look for Hide Extensions For Known File Types.
2) Never NEVER NEVER download anything unless you know what it is. If a web site claims it needs to download something, what is it? It could be something like the flash player, or a virus ! ! Ask questions, or go somewhere else.
Sry, but i cant speak good wnglish!
Thats flahplayer but when i close this websit , it downlode it of it self.
Once installed, Flash and other programs do not need to be re-installed. Now and then, an update may come thru, but not the way you describe. Please post the link(s) where this happens.
Grab the uninstaller from here: Uninstall Flash Player | Windows Uninstall Flash Player | Mac Then reinstall the latest version.

This is a reply from Adobe; created by John Waller in Downloading, Installing, Setting Up - View the full discussion
I asked What is the current version?
The version listed was; Version 12.1.3.153
That's the Shockwave Player for displaying content from Adobe Director
But the version on my computer is; 14.0.0.179.
That's the current version of Flash Player
Adobe - Flash Player
Hi Fred
You shouldn't confuse the Shockwave Flash plugin and the Shockwave for Director plugin and ask people to install the latter (of course having multiple versions is different). Both are different players and were initially created by Macromedia before Adobe took over this company in 2005 and acquired both products.
The Flash 14.0.0.179 version you have installed is old as it came out in August about as per http://helpx.adobe.com/security/products/flash-player/apsb14-18.html
The current version of Flash for Windows and Mac users is indeed 15.0.0.189 https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ http://helpx.adobe.com/security/products/flash-player/apsb14-22.html

I am not. On my computer, Flash is called Shockwave, and Shockwave is called Director. That is the question I asked Adobe.
Well Shockwave Flash but if you go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ they call it Flash player.
If you go to http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/ they call it shockwave player. This is not the Flash plugin and is what most people do not need now days.
Here is a tip if it says shockwave in a adobe.com link it is very likely to not be the Flash player.
Ok I found your old thread from Sept 1. https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1563118
He was telling you the 12.1.3.153 you posted was related to the Shockwave for director or Shockwave player.
When he said the 14.0.0.179 was the current version of Flash player, that was the current version some two months ago as Flash has since changed to 15.0
To stay on top on what the current version of Flash player is for browsers like Firefox on Windows and Mac OSX is then look at https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

If there is Flash in the plugin name (Shockwave Flash) then it is always Flash. If there is only Shockwave in the name then you should be cautious as that is more likely the Shockwave for Director player.
