and the program stops, so what should I do then?

I found this;

https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA12388/why-am-i-getting-a-fatal-error-kernel32-dll-when-i-try-to-launch-skype

If you're attempting to launch the most recent versions of Skype on Windows XP, you might see an error reading "Failed to get proc address for GetLogicalProcessorInformation (KERNEL32.dll)". If you're seeing this error, it's because your installation of Windows XP isn't running the most recent Service Pack (SP3) from Microsoft.

Will Firefox start in its Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

You can hold down the Shift key when launching Firefox to try that.

A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset).

Any difference?

If you want to try reinstalling Firefox 36 over your current installation, you can get a "full" (not stub) installer on this page (scroll down to your preferred language):

https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

Note: no need to uninstall.

Hello people,

I've just solved the problem just installing an older version (Firefox 35).

Next time, I will think twice before update.

Thank you for answering!!! :)

hi Kaner, are you on windows xp service pack 3?

It's not good to stay on older versions of Firefox, as they have many known security holes that could be exploited to steal your information. Especially as you are on Windows XP which doesn't receive security updates anymore it's important to update all your other software. Have you installed all the most recent Windows XP Service Packs? Please do that.

I'm using xp sp3. About to stay on older versions of Firefox, in this case is better.

In spite of possible security holes in my system, it has no sense that the solution to keep using a browser is change the OS when the older versions work perfectly and the latest versions of other browsers work perfectly.

Mozilla Team should fix this; and please don't suggest that solution is change the OS, maybe in this way, the solution is use other browser.
