Every time I start up it says it's already running. I uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times...
Message states
"Firefox is already running but not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window."
So then I click "Close Firefox".
Then I open it again and I get the same message....

Hello dkflipse
Try this articles: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-already-running-not-responding
Hope it works :)
if not, than tell what kind of OS and version of Firefox are you using.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.
See "Creating a profile":
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
Do you have the Firefox icon on your quick launch? Right click on it, and select Open New Window. Sometimes this works. If it opens, close it by Menu > File > Exit.
This is not a cure but will make it easier if Firefox locks up in Windows. https://support.mozilla.org/questions/997866 {web link}
Windows 7, Firefox version...? Whatever Firefox has from its download page....
I can't even open it. So any suggestion that requires me to do something on the Firefox home page wont work...
OK. I deleted the Parent Lock file and that seemed t fix it...not sure what this does or if I need it back...but Firefox now works.
Thanks folks.

Download Firefox Full Installer For All languages And Systems {web link} Save the file. Then;
Using your file browser, open the Programs folder on your computer.
Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86) Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. Linux: Check your user manual.
Look for, and rename any Mozilla and Firefox folders by adding .old to them.
Now run the full installer. If all goes well, remove the OLD folders when you are done.

OK. What is the file browser?
On Windows 7 that is Windows Explorer.
Did you try a new profile like I suggested above?
Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

OK. I just want to use browser. Not hack into the Pentagon. This is way too complex. Can anyone point me to a Youtube (maybe Google is the answer...) tutorial on this? Thanks. This is way to complex. FredMcD said

Once the file is downloaded, run the installer. That is it. If you are having a problem, please describe it.
Hello, I understand that there is a message that says Firefox is already running and after a reinstall and a new profile there is still a parent.lock file and Firefox still does not start properly. I also understand that the provided troubleshooting steps are slightly too technical.
Running an installer over an installation of Firefox does not change the default profile. It may require a clean reinstall to clean out anything that is causing Firefox to not shut down properly.
It might be helpful to have a technician assist you with this issue and have them refer to these troubleshooting steps. Unfortunately when Firefox does not shut down properly it is a tricky issue to solve.
What we can recommend is to scan your computer for malware, Make a back up of your profile: Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles, EDIT: a clean reinstall may not help considering that you already tried this. This issue will require some assistance.
