FF36,Win 7 Norton Security: I get message untrustworthy when i go to a site. Clock ok
I have FF36, WIN 7 (64) I installed Norton Security. Now when I try to go to a web site I get a message that the connection is untrustworty, etc. The system clock is set correct. I am not sure if this is a FF or Norton problem, probably both. NOTE: This message was sent from another system.

hi rkisko, does this happen on all secure sites starting with https:// or only on a particular one (if so, which one)?
a possible solution will also depend on different factors:
- what is the error code shown under technical details on the error page?
in case the error code equals sec_error_unknown_issuer, please attempt to add an exception on the bottom of the error page & inspect the certificate (see the screenshot attached for instructions):
- which issuer information does the certificate contain?
The error code is sec_error_unknown_issuer. This was when I was attempting to connect to Yahoo. I had the same problem with Google. I issued exceptions to both so now I can't go back for more data. I tried a few bank sites and they seem to work. When I try to connect to facebook I get the messages Error code Sec_error_unknown user. trying Yahoo Mail i get the message the cert is not trusted because no issurer chain was provided.
The clock is set to correct time.
I tried the procedure for deleting cert8.db several times with no results.
Just so I know, how do I cancel an exception?
for the procedure above you don't have to add an exception for real, but just go to the view section in order to see who is the issuer of the failing certificates. afterwards you can cancel the exception dialog...
The error message has changed, after I deleted cert8.db and restarted. Now the error message is: error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer. I get this message trying to log on to GMAIL, Facebook and some others.
I have a second computer with the same software, and this problem doesn't happen on the second system.

the most important thing to know before we can give any particular advice would be who is the issuer of the failing certificates!
