I have a couple printers that I use. When printing from Firefox, it seems to remember which size to print based upon which printer driver I used last. For example, If I print to my paper printer, it wants to print an 8.5" x 11" page, which is correct. Now when I want to to use a different printer, a thermal printer in this case, it also wants to use the paper size that it used before which this printer is not capable of using. The workaround has been to switch the driver before printing and making sure that it is going to the correct size before I Ok the printjob. This workaround is OK but there is probably something in the about:config that I am missing?

Once a printer is used thru Firefox and your preferences like margins, header / footer settings and paper size & "scale" are set, Firefox does [or is supposed to] remember those settings. Firefox also remembers which printer was last used and will "default" to using that specific printer the next time you go to print something; you have to remember to change the printer selected if you want to use a different printer then you last used before you click OK. That is the way Firefox works; nothing in about:config to change those actions.
