I believe someone other than myself has synced my computer. How can I tell if someone else has access to my activity?

I believe that my computer is being "shadowed". There are websites that I have not visited at all, including Mozilla developer, that show up as previously visited. Additionally, whenever I load a page it seems to load twice as if another copy is running in the background. Please help.

The Firefox sync system won't do live syncing of all of the website that you are visiting on another device. Meaning, the issue with your websites appearing to load twice is more than likely not caused by the sync system.

To be safe, please change the password to your Firefox sync account to ensure that no one can access it.

It sounds to me like you have an infection on your computer. You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one. Windows 8 has antivirus built-in already.

Please let me know if the scans detect something.
