When in Outlook (office 2010 edition), If I click on a URL link in a message, all it does is create a new process at about 25K memory usage. But there is no window for the process, and the only way I have to open links is to right click the link, then copy and paste it into the browser address bar. This has been happening for about a week now. If anyone can help, it would be appreciated. I am attaching a screen shot of the pertinent info from Process Explorer.

In order to change your Firefox Configuration please do the following steps :

  1. In the Location bar, type about:config and press Enter. The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
  2. Click I'll be careful, I promise! to continue to the about:config page.
  3. Search for browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground and make sure it is not set to true.

The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.

Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.

To Refresh Firefox:

  1. Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
    • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
    • If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
  2. At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
  3. Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
  4. Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.

This Didn't help. The setting was already set to false, and the problem seems to be getting worse. I can't even right click a link and choose open anymore. I have to right click, and copy the hyperlink and then manually create a new tab in Firefox, and paste the URL into the address bar.

Oh Yeh. A refresh didn't work. I'm going to try something to make sure it's a firefox problem since even a celan install hasn't worked either. I'm goint o set my default browser to some other browser to see if it has the same issue. If so, I know it isn't firefox.
