Windows 8.1

HD crashed, installed new HD, and am able to hook up old HD now as external drive (I: on my computer). When I open up I: pretty much everything I remember being on that HD is there.

Under Program Filers (x86) is where I find Mozilla Firefox, but when I open it I can't find any folder or file such as bookmarks or bookmarksbackup. I understand it could be a hidden file, but what I don't know is how to make those visible on the old HD.

I know know about viewing the hidden file using 'Show Folder', but obviously if I do that in the "new" Firefox installed on new HD then it's only showing me the bookmarks on new C: drive, of which only one bookmark since anticipating being able to import from the old HD.

Sorry, I did see questions similar to mine but none that seemed exact same problem where bookmarks file can't be seen on external drive.

Thank you!

You're looking in the wrong place.

File name is places.sqlite in the ~/AppData/Roaming/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/profile-name / folder.

Thank you for that, but when I do an "everywhere" search in Windows 8 it only finds that string on C: drive, which is the Firefox I just downloaded to new HD yesterday. When I try that string on I: (old HD), it does not find it.

On I: I do have a folder 'Favorites' which looks to be the IE favorites I had imported to Firefox about a year ago when this PC was first bought, but it doesn't contain any of the 'bookmarks' that were subsequently added.
