I upgraded to 38.1.0 via auto update, and Thunderbird no longer sees my Inbox or any server directory. Server is IMAP using SSL/TLS, normal pw for authentication. Error log gets only 2 instances of one error msg: Error: downloadable font: kern: Too large subtable., table discarded (font-family: "Open Sans" style:normal weight:normal stretch:normal src index:1) source: https://mozorg.cdn.mozilla.net/media/fonts/OpenSans-Regular-webfont.2696e36f12c5.woff This err msg may or may not be relevant????? Machine is Windows 7 Professional. Prior Thunderbird version ran fine. When trying to Get Messages or Send new message gets no response but no error dialog boxes of any type.

There are Info and Warnings but only this err msg. I have another Win XP machine running Thunderbird V31.4.0 and it is OK - can read/write email.

I have looked at other recent Support questions with somewhat similar behavior but suggestions there did not work. Esp. tried changes SHA configuration lines in Configuration Editor but this had no effect. new line is:

                         security.ssl3.dhe_rsa_aes_128_sha;false

Same for 256.

Tried de-installing Thunderbird and re-installing. No change in problem. Tried creating new account , with same server-side email, with no results.

My old Local Folders are fine. Thanks.

As you cannot send nor receive:

Close down Thunderbird please check your Anti-virus/Firewall software. Maybe it has not realised that you are now using a different version. Thunderbird should be set to 'Allow'. On one occasion I had to set as block and then reset to 'Allow' restart Thunderbird to see if it picks up the new version.

Thanks for the Anti-virus as a possible explanation. As you suggested, I did shutdown Thunderbird and check all the logs and info that our corporate Anti-Virurs will show me. I did not find any application setting in what I could see. We have Symantic Endpoint Protection (corporate mandate), and it can limit what a non-Administrator can see. I've checked with our IT folks and they have not found any application settings (for a specific app like Thunderbird). They are still checking.

I did find in the Symantic network protection logs that our Symantic configuration will block all IPV6 traffic in its firewall. And I did notice a fair amount of IPV6 traffic when starting Thunderbird or querying the email server. So, I turned off IPV6 in the Configuration Editor:

                     network.dns.disableIPv6;true

However, this did not make any difference. Thunderbird still cannot see the Inbox or any email directory on the server. And a Send of an email fails with "reason unknown". The only info in the Error Console is what I initially reported - the error about the "subtable too large", whose significance is very unclear (?). Thanks for helping!

I'm not familiar with the particular Symantec product. I did locate some info on someone trying to allow an app. So it might be worth looking in the same area to see if Thunderbird is listed as Allow. http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/add-file-under-exception-policy

It is not my anti virus program, in my case. My problem is: I have compressed my folders, but still appears INBOX as 104% full. When I transmitter a new mail, it can not be copied to the folder SEND and there is not provided a DRAFT during transmission.
