Finally set up a new account in Tbird but this time using IMAP. Earthlink is my ISP and it seems that by default it adds folders called Sent Spam, Virus Blocker and Suspect Email. I would like to delete then as they just take up space in the folder list but I can't seem to do it. The message I get is "Current Command did not succeed ,requested object already exists". Anyone know how to work around this. The second part of this question: I now have my IMAP account showing with my email address as the title. But also still show Local Folders which must be my pop account. Is there some way to get rid of that? There is no option for deleting that account.

You cannot delete folders created by the IMAP server. You can Unsubscribe them so they do not show. Right click the account and select Subscribe.

I suggest you check these folders periodically to see what your provider filters into them.

Local folders is a default created by Thunderbird and cannot be deleted. For one thing the Outbox is there and if you want to send email you need an Outbox.

Well, I did try and unsubscribe to those folders but they stayed put.

I guess your provider wants you to see them. Check with them for options.
