Is there any way to turn off the large attachment warning in TB 38?

Since I've upgraded I now get a "Warning! You are about to send a message of size xx MB. Are you sure you want to do this?" every time I send a large message.

I tried changing "mail.compose.big_attachments.notify" to 'false' but I still get the message after restarting TB.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I send a lot of large messages so I queue them up in Outbox then 'Send All' so I can do something else while they're sending. Now I have to sit at my desk and click 'OK' for every message.

Many thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks for your quick reply, I appreciate it! The e-mail server has a 20mb limit on attachments. The TB warning message is triggered when the total attachment(s) size is ~15mb or larger.

When I click 'OK' the message is sent successfully.

When you mentioned e-mail servers it gave me an idea and I checked the TB mail server settings in 'Config Editor' and found this:

mailnews.message_warning_size

The default value is 20971520 bytes (20mb). Because of encoding a 15mb attachment turns into a 20mb e-mail - and triggers the warning.

So I upped the value to 28311552 bytes (27mb), which is roughly the size of an encoded 20mb attachment. And the warning disappeared!

So it's fixed! Woohoo!

Thanks again for your help, it inspired me to find the solution!

What is the file-size of your attachment? or of all attachments included in that one email?

Try to send one or two messages with large attachments and see if they trip the warning when you send them individually.

Does your internet provider or email server have caps on usage?
