Hello, my computer was stolen and I want to migrate my Firefox profile, especially the bookmarks, to my wife´s notebook before the one that I bought arrives. I did a system backup with Aomei Backupper that I am able to explore, however I cannot find the file with my profile. The AppData folder seems to be empty. I have selected the option to see all hidden files and folders and have done a search using all the key words (Firefox, profile, etc.) in the virtual folder created by the backup software, however no relevant files were found. The old computer ran with Windows 7 and my wife´s notebook runs Windows 8.1. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hmm, the normal profile folder location is under

AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

so if there is nothing under AppData, that definitely is a bad sign.

Are there any permission issues of the kind discussed in this thread that could be hiding some data: http://aomeitech.com/forum/discussion/151/access-denied-unable-to-open-folder-after-backup/

Hello jscher2000, many thanks for your quick reply. The link you provided was very helpful. I copied the contents in the virtual driver to my new HD and was able to access the profile folder. All the best!
