I am using an iMac and when I go to the Apple website, I only display words and no graphics. Is there a plugin that I need to install?

Have you disabled stylesheets for that site? Check the View menu > Use Style. The setting should be Default Style, and not None.

Are you using a regular HTTP address (http://www.apple.com/) or a secure HTTPS address? Sometimes when secure pages appear unstyled, that can indicate a problem with secure certificates.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

(1) Clear Firefox's Cache

See: How to clear the Firefox cache

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:

  • right-click/Ctrl+click a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • click the padlock or globe icon in the address bar > More Information > "View Cookies"

In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

Can you attach a screenshot?

  • Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
  • Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

You can check the Net log and the Network log in the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer) to see if content fails to load or possibly is blocked (file size is zero).

Use Ctrl+F5 or Ctrl+Shift+R to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.

If you use extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Flash Block, Ghostery) then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.

Using the "fix problems that cause images to not show" link, I found a "reset profile" discussion and fix. I reset my firefox profile and everything began to work as it should. Thanks for the replies.
