I had to install Firefox on my work computer for one specific application to open. For all other areas I use Internet Explorer. I would only like to use Firefox for that one specific application but I do not know how to turn it off as the default browser or make it so I have to actually choose Firefox when I wish to use it. I would like Internet Explorer to be the default. Thank you.

Hi Tamara, this takes two steps:

(1) On Firefox's Options page, set Firefox not to check whether it is the default browser:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options

Firefox should display the General panel showing the Startup section. Uncheck the box for "Always check if Firefox is your default browser"

(2) Use the steps in the following Microsoft support article to have Internet Explorer make itself the default again:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/make-ie-default-browser

Does that work?
