On amazon.com, the product picture switch and zoom have both stopped working, going from firefox 39 to 42 hasn't helped. Works OK on my edge browser.

On an amazon.com product page, several related things no longer work: 1. Hovering over the product picture to zoom it no longer works 2. Clicking on the product picture to bring up an enlarged image with zoom/alternate pix choices no longer works 3. Clicking on the thumbnail (on the left) of an alternate product pic no longer changes the current product picture .... and yet clicking on a thumbnail (to the right) of an alternate product color (eg, brown shoes vs black shoes) does change the product picture.

This problem started a few weeks ago with my firefox 39 browser (no browser updates had been made) and continues today with my update to firefox 42. I do not have this problem with my Edge browser. I am running Windows 10 Pro, which received an auto update recently; I don't recall if this problem occurred prior to the update.

I have this: "Java Deployment Toolkit (8.0.660.18) has been blocked for your protection."

That has been blocked for years by Mozilla for security reasons.

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues. You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.

Note: Edge on Win10 does not use ActiveX version but its own Flash.

Well, at least I got my Java and adobe flash stuff up to date, thanks to your post. BUT, it didn't help with my problem on the amazon.com website. No improvement at all there. I do notice that in my Firefox add-ons manager folder, that I have this: "Java Deployment Toolkit (8.0.660.18) has been blocked for your protection." I have no idea if that is relevant.

Fred, thanks! I think the major culprit was my cache; It was sitting at 350MB, which was also my max allowed setting. It did seem to require a reboot, then all was well finally.
