I am so tired of getting "Warning: Unresponsive Script" and the useless information that follows. I have tried numerous "fixes" and nothing works. Fix this!!
Every solution you have suggested does not work. Especially when using Facebook (as well as other web sites) this warning appears no matter what I try. Should I make IEX my default browser?

Please post the whole error message(s). When do you get these messages? One web site? Many?
It occurs routinely when I am on Facebook, especially playing Words With Friends. It also appears for the web site a2zWordFinder. My home page is Xfinity Connect--I get the message there as well. I upgraded to Windows 10 a few weeks ago--it happened before the upgrade but is occurring far more frequently now. Also, since the upgrade, the computer has slowed considerably. Of course, now that I am typing this I am not getting the Unresponsive script message that I could share with you. I have Norton for security.
Use this link to check that your plugins are up-to-date. If any are listed as unknown or research, do not worry about them.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
I did as advised and upgraded all plug-ins. Today I received again this message:

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues.
You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.
Note: Edge on Win10 does not use ActiveX version but its own Flash.
Flash: Grab the uninstaller from here: Uninstall Flash Player | Windows Uninstall Flash Player | Mac
Then reinstall the latest version.
Flash Player Version 20.0.0.235

Note: Windows users should download the ‘’’active_x’’’ for “Internet Explorer,”
and the ‘’’plugin’’’ for “Plugin-based browsers” (like Firefox).
Adobe still offers Flash 18.0.0.268 as its extended support release further down
Do you have an add-on or program called; adaptvinfo ?
Is it always Adap.tv? That's an advertising service of AOL, so one possibility is to try an ad blocking add-on.
If this happens with multiple scripts, the problem may be the protected mode feature of the Flash player plugin. That feature has security benefits, but seems to have serious compatibility issues on some systems. You can disable it using the Add-ons page. Either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins. On the right side, find "Shockwave Flash" and click the More link. Then uncheck the box for "Enable Adobe Flash protected mode" and try that for a day to see whether it helps.
